Eblana Photonics, based in Dublin, designs single-mode laser diodes that are market disrupting due to their unrivalled consistency, performance and cost.

Eblana has solved a key problem in laser technology by developing a device with DFB-like performance and manufactured using standard IC process tools. Furthermore, since Eblana’s technology platform only utilizes standard electronics design rules and mature processes, it achieves performance and product consistency typical of IC products which to date have not been features of Photonics products.

It is anticipated that Eblana's technology will reduce the overall costs of transceiver manufacture by over 50% in volume applications and will accelerate the roll out of widespread optical communications in the Access and Enterprise Markets where economy in transceiver costs is key.
