Appointment further strengthens board of industry experts

October 13 2009, Guildford, UK: Lime Microsystems announced today that it has appointed Dan Rabinovitsj as non-executive director. Rabinovitsj brings to Lime 20 years of experience in general management and marketing of mixed signal and analog communications ICs, having held management positions at companies such as ST-Ericsson, NXP, AMD and Silicon Laboratories.

Dr. Ebrahim Bushehri, CEO of Lime Microsystems, commented on the appointment: "We are very pleased to have someone of Dan's calibre join Lime. He joins a team of industry experts and his extensive knowledge of the transceiver market will bring an invaluable input to our strategy as we move the company forward.

Rabinovitsj's background spans a variety of communications and networking technology areas. He was a founding member of the wireless products business unit at Silicon Laboratories in 1998 and went on to lead the development of the AeroFone single-chip product prior to taking over as General Manager of the Wireless Business Unit of Silicon Labs in 2005. Recently, Rabinovitsj has been a key executive at ST-Ericsson, guiding the consolidation of the wireless industry and managing a complex series of mergers, roadmap integration across multiple businesses and cultural bridge building. He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Also on Lime Microsystems' board of directors are Dr. Ebrahim Bushehri, CEO of Lime Microsystems; Alan Duncan of DFJ Esprit; ACT Venture Capital's John Flynn; Dr. Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog Semiconductor; and Pete Magowan, former Executive VP Business Development at ARM Holdings plc

Lime Microsystems has developed a multi-band multi-standard RF transceiver IC designed for femtocells and small cell basestations. The highly frequency agile transceiver operates at user-selectable frequencies between 375MHz and 4GHz and is suitable for 3G, WiMAX, and LTE standards. The transceiver can be digitally configured to operate in the full range of frequency bands, with 16 user-selectable bandwidths up to 28MHz. This removes the need for individual transceiver chips for each of the different bands, and allows a small cell base station to be reconfigured rapidly and simply. The resulting reduction in bill of materials minimises costs and inventory for OEMs. Lime’s single-chip device also offers footprint and cost advantages over discrete solutions.
